Former Alan Wake Developer, Lasse Seppänen, Developer To Lead New Supercell London Studio

A little bit of a cross-studio post for today! Fellow Finnish developer, Supercell launched the new London-based studio in March, appointing former-Alan Wake developer, Lasse Seppänen as General Manager. The new posting sees him relocate to the new city, making it a bit of a local news story for us too!

Seppänen previously worked at Remedy Entertainment as a lead on Alan Wake, and was a champion for the game in the Collector's Edition documentaries.

Originally joining as Remedy's Production Lead in August 2005 just after the reveal, Seppänen moved up to Executive Producer in 2007, before taking on as COO (Chief Operating Office) until his departure in June 2011.

He remained in the industry after leaving the studio, founding companies such as Elven Industries Ltd (where he continued his partnership with Remedy, as a client) and PlayRaven (a mobile studio later acquired by Rovio). Seppanen later joined Supercell in January 2019 as a Producer, and moved up in the Boom Beach team.

The London branch joins Supercell's other studios in Helsinki, Shanghai, Seoul and San Francisco. According to Supercell, the London team will work on both new and existing live service games, including their new title, Squad Busters.

Congratulations to Lasse on his new promotion and to the team on the creation of the new studio!
