At the start of January, NVIDIA revealed their all-new GeForce 50 Series, a range of monster GPUs, launching with the DLSS 4's new DLSS Multi Frame Generation. That's not all, though! In recent days, the company has published a follow-up post, adding hype and listing of seventy-five games and apps to support the next tech, including Alan Wake 2.
Partnered with Remedy, the studios shared a digital raffle and posted questions/challenges for the community. These challenges included asking players who would they pick between Alan or Jesse to team up with, which enemies gave them the most nightmare fuel, and sharing their thoughts on the ultimate boss fight challenge board. Remedy and NVIDIA also called on players to take a photo with Mr Drippy, the unfortunate Coffee World mascot, and share it with them.
This past week, NVIDIA further added intrigue with a list of seventy-five apps and games set to support the new technology from “day zero”. The list includes Cyberpunk 2077, Deliver Us Mars, Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarök, SILENT HILL 2, and Alan Wake 2, with the latest taking centre stage in their marketing.
For Alan Wake 2, the game will be receiving an update, taking the graphics and performance to the next level for those on the new GeForce RTX 50 range.
NVIDIA has announced that the title will be the first game to feature the RTX Mega Geometry technology, which will be available on all RTX graphics cards and laptops. The additions will help reduces CPU overhead, improves FPS and reduces VRAM consumption in heavier ray-traced locations.
The update will also be bringing in support for NVIDIA's “new transformer-based DLSS model” for enhanced image quality. The introduction of a new “Ultra Quality” setting for ray-tracing will full ray-traced refractions, transparent reflects, and indirect lighting.
If this all sounds confusing, that's okay! In short, NVIDIA states that, the new Ultra Quality ray-tracing, combined with the transformer-based DLSS and DLSS Multi Frame Generation will allow “Alan Wake 2 to be explored with even better image quality, and heightened realism and immersion.” You can check out a demonstration of the differences below…
