Alan Wake 2's haunting soundtrack will officially be released on vinyl in April 2025, available from Laced Records.
The collection was previously teased in an GamesIndustry.biz article back in July 2024 which looked at the power and interest for video game soundtracks as their own separate entity. For the piece, they spoke to Danny Kelleher (CEO of Laced Records), with the author, Sophie McEvoy, later describing that, "he notes that Remedy was really supportive and heavily involved throughout the whole process, particularly for the eventual vinyl release that both Remedy and Laced have alluded to online."
While a known concept for a few months, Laced Records have provided the first glimpse into what their collection would look like, alongside the ability to pre-order for their Spring 2025 release. (It sounds like a long way but, brace yourself, it's six months.)
For the pre-order collection, there are four versions that you can sign up for. Let's look at each of them in detail and what makes each different.
The Alan Wake 2 (Limited Editon X4LP Boxset) features four transparent vinyls with a white splatter design. Each of the four vinyls are secured inside a rigid board slipcase with a silver printed laminate wrap featuring the Words of Power. This version is the most comprehensive, featuring 47 tracks, including the original score by Petri Alanko, all parts of This Road by POE, and the Chapter Songs. The collection is available to pre-order now for £77.
The Alan Wake 2 (Deluxe X4LP Boxset) features all of the above, including the price, but instead the vinyls will be your typical black LP.
Similarly, for the Deluxe Double vinyl, there are two versions; one limited edition and one standard.
For the Alan Wake 2 (Exclusive Edition Deluxe Double Vinyl), there are two transparent red heavyweight vinyls, secured in a deluxe gatefold sleeve. There are twenty-six tracks in total, including the Chapter Songs, Yötön Yö, and sixteen tracks by Petri Alanko. This version is available to pre-order for £36.
The Alan Wake 2 (Deluxe Double Vinyl) features the exact same but instead of two transparent red vinyls, they are black.
We have reached out to Laced Records to ask how the limited edition-ness (definitely a word) of the pieces are measured. Some companies have a limited timed run during their pre-order campaign, whereas others have the more traditional fixed amount. The information is not provided in their newsletter or on the listings, so we were curious. At present, we have not heard back, but will update you in case we receive a response.
