Alan Wake 2's Story Expansion, The Lake House, Now Available!

Today's the day! Alan Wake 2's second and final story expansion, The Lake House, is now available to download!

Available as part of the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, The Lake House follows the story of FBC Agent Kieran Estevez as she responds to an emergency at the Bright Falls research station. Though, what she believes to be a routine check turns into something more menacing. If you don't have the Deluxe Edition, the upgrade can be bought separately for all platforms, with many digital stories featuring it at a reduced price to celebrate the launch. Packaged into the experience, players can also listen to two new songs by Poe and Petri Alanko. But that's not all, there's a lot featured in this latest update....

The Assist Mode. As part of the expansion update, Remedy is not holding back, with the notes featuring long list of community-driven requests and fixes. A long-requested feature is the new Assist Mode! We recently wrote an article about our love for the feature in Control, and it's exciting that it's being integrated into Remedy's latest adventure. The new options will allow for quick turns, auto complete quick time events (QTE), button tapping reduced to a single tap, weapon/healing/lightshifter with a single tap, player invulnerability, player immortality, one shot kill, infinite ammo and infinite flashlight batteries.

Additional Controls. There have also been some new changes to the controls, with Remedy adding an option for X invert and the introducing support for the PS5 controller gyros. The latter is an optional feature for PlayStation players, but with it enabled, allows the use of motion control. With the controller, the developers have announced that there will now greater feedback from in-game decisions with the increase use of haptics. Interested in learning more? You can read Remedy's blog post on the new controls, HERE.

Hands down, most importantly, though, is the introduction of the original tweed jacket from Alan's first adventure. It's been a highly requested feature for long-time fans to battled against those cold, damp New York nights. To celebrate the first anniversary of the game, you can now find it listed under the “Cosmetics” menu option.
