"This isn't the bureau's first time in Bright Falls. The FBC research department set up a facility, The Lake House. If I had any clue what was waiting for us in there... I would have just kept on driving."
Tonight, PlayStation's State of Play provided us with the first glimpse into The Lake House, the second of two story expansions, confirmed for this October. Alongside a one-minute teaser, we also got some interesting details setting up the situation...
In the upcoming expansion, we have a new protagonist; FBC Agent Kiran Estevez (Janina Gavankar). The story runs parallel to the sequel, and follows her journey as she gains access to the Bright Falls research station, following a recorded "catastrophic event". Through a series of reckless experiments, the line between reality and the Dark Place is blurred.
For the expansion, Remedy is taking a much darker tone, teased in their marketing as "a harrowing survival horror experience". Considering the final shot of the trailer slowly, yeah I think that's pretty accurate.
