Poets of the Fall's electrifying album, Jealous Gods, is launching on vinyl. The release coincides with its tenth anniversary, and also sees the band showcase a new selection of themed-shirts. The vinyl and bundles will be launching later this year on October 18th 2024, with pre-ordering available on their webstore.
First up, let's look at that vinyl! To celebrate the anniversary and vinyl release, the band are releasing a twelfth track, a Genelec Artist Room Live version of Daze. (Seven years ago, the band took part in a live session held at the Genelec Artist Room, where they performed a series of songs including Daze, Once Upon a Playground Rainy, Children of the Sun, Drama for Life and Carnival of Rust. The track on the vinyl is possibly taken from their session and released with extra polish.) Inside, there will be two bright yellow vinyls in a gatefold sleeve, with the colour scheme complementing the striking bright blue and yellow cover. Three songs will be featured on each side of the LP.
There are two t-shirts types to choose from; unisex and women. The design is the same for both with the iconic lightning bolt warning sign against a black background, the album name featured below and the older Poets of the Fall logo above. A lighting bolt is shown on the reverse too. All items released in this collection has the pre-Clearview logo, which many older Alan Wake fans will likely recognise. Jealous Gods was the last studio album to feature the design with the band moving to a more modern version with their next collection. Like with their previous t-shirts, both are 100% soft ring spun cotton, pre-washed with a crew neck and double top stitching in bottom and sleeve. If you want to purchase the vinyl as well, the shirts are also featured in their own bundles with a slight discount.
Launched in September 2014, Jealous Gods is Poets of the Fall's sixth studio album and debuted at number one on the Finnish Top 40 album chart. The album is packed with eleven tracks, spanning just over fifty minutes of alternative rock goodness. If you've checked out the band's YouTube channel, certain tracks are likely to jump out at you including Daze, Love Will Come to You, and Choice Millionaire, all of which were given the music video treatment.
