This month, Jacqueline Piñol, the fantastic actor behind Quantum Break's Dr Sofia Amaral, celebrated the launch of The Canine Condition on YouTube, her award-winning documentary series which follows neglect of dogs and the profit culture in America.
Originally released in 2023, the series is inspired by Piñol's first adopted dog, Dublin, which has led her on a mission to explore the stories of dogs living in shelters and the people who run them. In the first episode, they travel to The Laurens County Humane Society in Dublin, Georgia to look at the stories behind their residents and their recent social media campaign Save The 200.
While it can be an emotional watch, and sometimes shows footage of injuries, the program also has a hopeful tone as they celebrate how far the dogs have come and with a close look into the grassroot work that goes into improving their lives. In a world where money is becoming harder to come by, they also focus on the power of volunteering alongside donations can mean the world.
In each episode, Piñol travels the United States, spotlighting a new and trusted 501c3 dog rescue organization or advocacy group. So far there are fourteen episodes spanning over two seasons. For those wanting to learn more, Jacqueline Piñol also hosts a podcast of the same name, with twenty-five episodes currently available.
