Old Gods of Asgard may be a fictional band, but they are making very real headlines. Yesterday, the band's debut album, Rebirth - Greatest Hits, entered the iTunes global top 10 album charts!
The news came after an incredible week in which Poets of the Fall took on their alter-egos for a special live performance of Herald of Darkness on stage at The Game Awards. Hours later, the album was released worldwide.
While viewership numbers for The Game Awards 2023 haven't yet been revealed, the organisers estimated 103 million viewed their livestream in 2022.
Other albums on the list include (in order) Pink Friday 2 by Nicki Minaj, Christmas by Michael Bublé, I/O by Peter Gabriel, Think Later by Tate McRae, Extension by Kylie Minogue, Christmas by Cher, Golden by Jungkook, The Very Best of The Pogues by The Pogues, and Ghost Stories by Coldplay.
Rebirth - Greatest Hits features the four previously released songs by the band: Children of the Elder God, The Poet and the Muse (as featured in Alan Wake), Balance Slays the Demon (from Alan Wake's American Nightmare), and Take Control (as heard in Control). The new songs include those heard in Alan Wake 2, Dark Ocean Summoning, Anger's Remorse and Herald of Darkness, along with two new tracks, The Sea of Night and The Skald Awakens.
