To celebrate the launch of Alan Wake 2, NVIDIA is giving away a special GeForce RTX 4090 adorned with a custom key art backplate.
Valued at £1,579, the GPU will allow the player to experience their return to Bright Falls with the best possible graphics and ray-tracing options.
On the power of the tech, NVIDIA promises "an enormous leap in performance, efficiency, and AI-powered graphics. Experience ultra-high-performance gaming, incredibly detailed virtual worlds, unprecedented productivity, and new ways to create. It’s powered by the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture and comes with 24 GB of G6X memory to deliver the ultimate experience for gamers and creators."
In a new deep dive, NVIDIA also explains how ray tracing (particularly on the RTX 4090) can help immerse you into the experience, making the light and reflections pop. "Full ray tracing, also known as path tracing, accurately simulates light throughout an entire scene. It is used by visual effects artists to create film and TV graphics that are indistinguishable from reality, but until the arrival of GeForce RTX GPUs with RT Cores and the AI-powered acceleration of NVIDIA DLSS, full ray tracing in real-time video games was impossible. In Alan Wake 2, full ray tracing cranks the quality of ray-traced effects to 11. Transparent and opaque reflections recreate their surroundings at full resolution, heightening immersion.
