Today, Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games announced that Alan Wake 2 will be delayed by just over a week, moving the release date from October 17th to October 27th.
The new launch, made in response to the busy release month in the industry, places them closer to Halloween, an appropriate celebration given the team taking a darker turn to survival horror.
In a social media post, Remedy stated that "October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games. We can't wait to show you what everyone's favorite novelist is up to in the Dark Place next week. Thanks for your patience!"
October is a busy time for gamers, with some hard-hitting titles due to launch that month. In addition to Alan Wake 2, there is also Assassin's Creed Mirage (October 5th), Forza Motorsport (October 10th), Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (October 20th), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (October 20th), Just Dance 2024 (October 23rd), Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 (October 24th), and Alone in the Dark (October 25th). Placing it closer would mean that holiday connection and conveniently closer to payday.
Alan Wake 2 will be available digitally for PC on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Available for pre-order now!
