Gamescom is back later this month, and Remedy will be there to showcase the Alan Wake 2 "Dark Place demo".
The event will officially kick off on Tuesday, August 22nd, with the Gamescom Opening Night Live. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the show will be sharing exclusive first looks at upcoming games. Sam Lake (Creative Director at Remedy) will be taking to the stage to talk about Alan's side of the story. The stream goes live at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 6pm UTC / 7pm BST /8pm CEST across the event channels. (Watch HERE!)
On the topic of the Dark Place demo, Thomas Puha (Communications Director at Remedy) tweeted that the team are, "Doing it a bit differently than we've done the demos for the past few games. Its very moody (surprise :D) and you are gonna trip out on some the reveals there. We got plenty of surprises left."
The reveal followed the release of EDGE Magazine's (#388) cover feature of Alan Wake 2, which delves into Wake's experiences in the Dark Place. You can learn more about the edition, HERE!
Held in Cologne, Germany, Gamescom is Europe's largest video game convention, and a significant name on the industry's calendar. This year, the event is held across five days, which spans from Wednesday 23rd - Sunday 27th of August. The first official day of Gamescom (Wednesday, 23rd) is held exclusively for trade visitors and media, with Thursday to Sunday being available to everyone.
