It's always a good day when we get some Matthew Porretta! Today, Justin at Monsters, Madness and Magic spoke to the Alan Wake and Control actor about the things that scared him as a kid, his involvement in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and his experiences playing Alan Wake.
Matthew joined the Remedy cast back in 2010 for Alan Wake, providing a voice to the gruff but determined writer as he explored the town of Bright Falls looking for answers. He later returned to voice the character (and his various versions) in both DLC packs (The Signal and The Writer), as well as the "spin-off" title, Alan Wake's American Nightmare. Four years later, during the development of Quantum Break, he came back with a cameo for "Return" a TV Easter Egg, a sneak peak into what became Alan Wake 2. But it was in Control that fans might recognise him best, as the actor behind the enthusiastic and occassionally-morally-grey Dr Casper Darling.
Near the end of the podcast, there was also discussion of a potential release date for Remedy's upcoming title. While the game is expected to still launch later in 2023, at this point, the date mentioned in the podcast hasn't been confirmed by the studio. Don't worry, as we're nearing the middle of the year, I'm sure it won't be too long before we hear something though. For now, it might be best to play it safe and wait for official confirmation.
