If you've purchased but have yet to play Remedy's CrossfireX campaigns, make sure to bookmark some time in your diary within the next week to experience the two adventures.
In early February, Smilegate announced the closure of their CrossfireX servers, which will also remove access for players who have purchased the Operation Catalyst and Operation Spectre single-player packs.
On a personal note, they're definitely well worth playing, I really enjoyed them and I'm sad that they will no longer be available after next Thursday. If you can, make sure to check out Remedy's first steps into the FPS genre.
The publishers have announced that they will shut down servers on May 18th.
In the original letter signed by the CrossfireX Team, the team revealed "It is with the deepest regret that we are informing you of our decision to end support for CrossfireX on May 18, 2023. Since the launch of the game, we have worked tirelessly to bring it to a point where we can all be proud, and throughout it all we have had the honor and pleasure of supporting our players.
"Coming to this decision was not easy, however, we can proudly say that our players have been amazingly active, passionate and enthusiastic in working with us to create a game that would be fun and enjoyable by all. We want to thank each and every one of our players for playing CrossfireX and being a part of this journey with us."
Following the announcement, Smilegate halted purchases on Xbox One, refunded purchases made within the past fourteen days, and announced that no more content will be added to the game.
