It's been ten months since Alan Wake II was revealed during The Game Awards 2021, but its creepy setting and uneasy atmosphere caught the attention of the judges for the voting for the 40th Golden Joystick Awards. This week, public voting opened with the writer's return being shortlisted in the Best Game Trailer category.
Competing in the group alongside the Alan Wake II Reveal Trailer is the Time Flies Announcement Trailer, skate. Still Working On It Trailer, Goat Simulator 3 Announcement Trailer, Bloody Hell Hotel Reveal Trailer, and The Callisto Protocol: The Truth of Black Iron Trailer.
Voting closes on November 11th, with the ceremony set to be broadcast online on November 22nd. (We'll include links for where to watch it closer to the date!)
For the judging process, publishers and developers are invited to nominate their games and studios in early September. The list is then sent and analysed by "Future PLC editors, trusted freelancers and external experts". Later that same month, the final shortlist is decided between the Future editors and a trusted network of journalists, with the final voting put in the hand of players.
