Coinciding with the Q3 2021 Financial Report, today Remedy announced that they will be establishing a new studio in neighbouring Stockholm in 2022.
Throughout the past year, Remedy has been trialling the new format in the city, led by Johnny Mang (General Manager on Vanguard). With the recent go-ahead, Remedy is looking to expand their Sweden-based studio, prioritising senior roles first, with the eventual goal of hiring around twenty-five developers as the year progresses. At present, the studio has been run fully remotely but will move to a hybrid plan with an open-plan studio going ahead.
In a statement posted on Remedy' website, James Salt (Game Director) expanded on the working setup, “We understand that everyone is different, and has different needs, on different days. Some days are best spent focused, headphones on, working on something cool, whereas other days, such as when teams are working on planning, perhaps would benefit from in-person facetime. The hybrid model is about letting people choose the method that works best for them, on any given day.”
