[Catch-Up] If you've been looking forward to playing Control on your PlayStation 5 or XBOX One Series X/S, you won't have to wait much longer!
After originally being delayed back in November, the game is now scheduled to launch digitally via the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store on February 2nd 2021, with a retail launch following a month later on March 2nd 2021.
Originally scheduled to launch "end of 2020", the studios published a statement on Twitter stating "an update from the development team: Control Ultimate Edition will arrive on next generation platforms early 2021. We want the final quality of the game to be awesome, and so we need a bit more time to work on it. Thank you for your understanding and patience!"
In a more recent tweet, featuring both PS5 footage and the new dates, the developers confirmed that it will be launching on next-gen consoles with "60fps Performance Mode and 30fps Graphics Mode (with ray-tracing)".
Players who have purchased the Control Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One will be able to play the game on their system's next-gen console with enhancements. Those who already have the original release of Control will be able to play on newer consoles through the platform's backwards compatibility.
