Last month things began to get... complicated. For many countries, March was the start of the lockdown, which unfortunately meant the start of a lot of uncertainty. Even with government programs going ahead in the coming weeks targeted at those who are employed, furloughed, working from home, self-employed, or even unemployed, no program is perfect and for large sections of society that still means cuts. Throughout this pandemic, life is still going on, there's still food to buy and rent to pay, and with the increase in electricity and gas bills with home-working, getting by is... well, getting tough.
A few weeks ago, we posted a list of international events that were forced to cancel or reschedule due to safety concerns. For a lot of artists especially, this is their main way to showcase their work, to fund their craft, and more importantly to survive.
As someone whose work was also impacted by unexpected cancellations, I know how rough it can be financially right now, so a little while ago I asked if other community members were impacted by the pandemic and how we can help. This could be artists with open commissions, online store owners who are unable to get a booth at a show, anything! If you're working on a project and looking to make it that little bit extra special, please check out the incredible people below!
(If you're an artist who is currently looking for work, let us know and we'll be happy to include you too!)

Mori is a brilliant artist and a familiar name in the Remedy community, who has filled our timelines with incredible artwork over the years. You may also recognise her by her old username Acedhampir, which we used in her Community Spotlight. A self-taught artist, Mori is also a freelance designer and graphic artist. When she's not creating new artwork at her desk, she's a college student studying Business and Human Resources. She also has experience collaborating online, and for Alan Wake's eighth anniversary was one of four artists who worked together to create celebratory art for the milestone. If you're looking for amazing art on a quick turnaround, check out Mori! She is currently accepting commissions, HERE!

Charlie
Artist
Our next spotlighted artist is the incredible Charlie, who joined the community with Quantum Break. As he has found himself currently moving houses, he is looking for commissions that he can work on between unpacking boxes and looking for new adventures. We originally spotlighted Charlie's work back in 2016, but a lot has changed since then; his style has developed and it's obvious that he's been studying and pushing himself with each new piece. Alongside his work in the community, he also designs and publishes his own zines with topics such as poetry, herbs, and identity. If you're looking for incredibly realistic portraits, Charlie's your man! He is currently accepting commissions, HERE.

Over the years she has created dozens of gorgeous pieces of artwork focused on the Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Control series, and lovingly made in her unique style. Her work has also been spotlighted by Poets of the Fall, the real-life band behind Old Gods of Asgard. We've also highlighted her incredible creations with her own Community Spotlight on the site.
