This evening, Remedy's Game Director, Mikael Kasurinen announced via Twitter that Control has now officially gone gold!
With the announcement, game development is now officially wrapped up on Control and the countdown to 27th August 2019 has begun, with the focus now put on preparing for the big day and post-launch DLC. Things are going to get busy for the publishers and marketing! The game will be launching on three platforms; PC (initially via the Epic Store), XBOX One, and PS4, making it one of the biggest simultaneous launches for the studio since the release of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne in 2003.
In addition to the tweet, Mikael also thanked Juha Vaino (Lead Producer) at Remedy; "Kudos for the amazing production team lead by @yuuhaw. They and other heroes prepped the game ready for release in time for all three target platforms."
Congratulations to the team, both former and current developers at the studio, who worked on the project and help bring it to life! Looking forward to playing it on August 27th!
It is done. New IP, new tech, new game structure, new direction, three platforms. And three years. What an achievement from the best dev team on the planet! @ControlRemedy pic.twitter.com/laFc0ocNvQ— Mikael Kasurinen (@MikaelKasurinen) July 24, 2019
It’s been quite a ride. Big tech challenges. We lost animation middleware and wrote new from scratch which depends heavily on Motion Matching. It was big risk but I think we nailed it. Proud of our team. Ex and current ones. @remedygames @505_Games. https://t.co/KG8tjrph4d— Ville Ruusutie (@villeruusutie) July 24, 2019

In three years. So much new stuff. Pretty incredible we were able to pull it off at high quality. Game is pretty big too and definitely different. Less than 100 people internally on average. Thanks to all the external developer help and @505_Games https://t.co/IOnjep0Ck8— Thomas Puha (@RiotRMD) July 24, 2019
