Earlier this month, Slate Schwertner (Influencer Relations at 505Games) and Vida Starčević (Community Manager at Remedy) attended GuardianCon in Florida (US) to showcase the studio's upcoming game, Control.
While at the show, the duo spoke to JDSupra in their podcast LAN Party Lawyers: Live from Guardian Con 2019 (Part 1). Topics included FTC influencer guidelines, microtransactions within games, and of course Control. The episode is twenty-two minutes long and you can listen to it on their website HERE, or below:
A bit about Guardian Con: Originally starting out as a meet-up for Destiny streamers in 2015 called "DestinyCon", the event quickly bloomed the following year into a fully functioning convention with St. Jude's Children Research Hospital at the heart of it all. Since its beginnings, Guardian Con has raised over four million dollars through monthly donations, con attendance and additional events.
This year the event took place between July 5th and 6th at Rosen Shingle Creek (Orlando, Florida). As doors closed, the RareDropCo announced a rebranding of Guardian Con, changing its name into the Gaming Community Expo, and announcing next year's dates as June 27th and 28th.
A bit about St Jude's Children's Research Hospital: The money raised from the event will go to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital which first opened its doors in February 1962 with the goal of researching childhood diseases previously believed to be incurable or dangerous and caring for the patients admitted to them. It's an organisation which has touched a lot of hearts, especially for their dedication and care. To find out more information about the charity, check out their website, HERE.
