Update 6/12/2018 at 11:50 GMT: Remedy's Communication Director, Thomas Puha, responded to PayneReactor earlier today following a similar report of possible new Control footage with a simple "no, not this time" Another fan asked him if the TGAs will show a release date for the title which saw another quick statement, "too early for that".
Original Story: With the year drawing to a close, we're now on the eve of The Game Awards 2018, an annual celebration of the developers in the gaming industry!
Held on Thursday 6th December 2018 at 5:30pm PST (Friday 7th at 1:30am GMT / 3:30am EET), The Game Awards will be focusing on the amazing achievements and titles from the past twelve months. During the show, a list of star-studded presenters will be presenting trophies across a number categories to developers, including "Game of the Year", "Best Ongoing Game", "Best Game Direction" and more.
In addition to special guest presenters and live music, throughout the evening audience members will also get their first glimpse at new titles with promised new reveals from Dead by Daylight, Ubisoft, Wizards of the Coast, EA, and more.
This is where Control's involvement is rumoured to come in. Earlier today both Remedy's Communications Director, Thomas Puha, and Lead Actor in Control, Courtney Hope, spotlighted the event in separate tweets. Puha announced earlier in the week that he had travelled to LA for the awards ceremony and mentioned again in a Game Awards-related tweet about 2019 being a big year with the release of Control. Whereas Hope gave details about the time and place to watch the show from while mentioning her excitement.
Excited for the TGAs this week. So many folks to see in LA too. 2019 is gonna be a fun year fans of @remedygames :)
While Remedy hasn't officially confirmed the rumour, it wouldn't be the first time that they had planned to attend a show in secret. Their event presence has frequently shared the same mysterious quality that the Federal Bureau of Control thrives on; with a surprise reveal at E3 2018, a short behind-closed-doors showing at Gamescom, a last minute announcement at EGX 2018, and (possible) an unconfirmed reveal at The Game Awards. As long as their media unit doesn't start hovering or trying to murder anyone, it should be okay.
You can watch The Game Awards live this Thursday 6th at 5:30pm PST (or Friday 7th at 1:30am GMT / 3:30am EET because time zones are weird). The livestream can be watched on including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook Live, Twitch, Steam, Playstation, XBOX Live, Mixer, IGN, Gamespot, MLG, and Caffeine.
