We're already speeding through December, so we're due for our Christmas competition! For this year's prize we have something a little special; as a lot of you know, Alan Wake was removed from stores earlier this year due to expired music licenses, but Steam codes can still be redeemed. For this competition we're giving away a copy of Alan Wake on Steam specially put aside for this occasion.
To enter the competition, we demand a greetings card sacrifice! Of course, it doesn't have to be a Christmas card if Christmas isn't your thing; it can be for another holiday or event during December. It can be hand drawn, digital art, an amazing Photoshop, a terrible Photoshop, whatever you would like to make!
"When the wife of the best-selling writer Alan Wake disappears on their vacation, his search turns up pages from a thriller he doesn’t even remember writing. A Dark Presence stalks the small town of Bright Falls, pushing Wake to the brink of sanity in his fight to unravel the mystery and save his love.
Presented in the style of a TV series, Alan Wake features the trademark Remedy storytelling and pulse-pounding action sequences. As players dive deeper and deeper into the mystery, they’ll face overwhelming odds, plot twists, and cliffhangers. It’s only by mastering the Fight With Light combat mechanic that they can stay one step ahead of the darkness that spreads across Bright Falls.
With the body of an action game and the mind of a psychological thriller, Alan Wake’s intense atmosphere, deep and multilayered story, and exceptionally tense combat sequences provide players with an entertaining and original gaming experience."
Before you enter, you may want to check if your machine can run the game. The specifications can be found on the Steam page. Oh! And a portion of the proceeds from the game has gone to Cats Protection League, as the purchase was made through The Humble Store.
How to Enter:
As we mentioned before, we're looking a Remedy-themed greetings card which represents what this time means to you. It could be an occasion such as Christmas or New Year or it could be a general December card if you don't want to tie it to one particular thing.
The standard card size is about 5"x7" but as they come in a variety of different shapes and styles, we haven't got a specific rule about this; you do you!
If you're sending it through email, please have it as a jpeg otherwise our inboxes may throw a strop at the size.
Note: Obviously please keep entries BBC primetime appropriate.

- Leave your entry or link on the site's Facebook page.

How the winner will be picked:
For this competition there will be one (1) winner who will win a digital Steam code for Alan Wake. There are no real strict judging rules so we're not looking for one specific thing in particular; the selected card will be the one that I find myself thinking about even if I step away from the keyboard. It could be funny or sentimental, just as long as it's something that you enjoy making.
There's no limit to the number of entries either so if you want to do two or more cards, you can!
The winner will be contacted as soon as possible. Competition closes Sunday 7th January 2018 at 18:00 UK Time (BST).
And if you don't win, will be another opportunities in the future. :)
