More information on the film:
How far would you go to save someone you love from giving up on their dream?
This question was what inspired Desert Prayer to grow. It was born from a fierce desire to get someone I love to recognize their own self worth, and finally free themselves from an oppressive relationship.
Developing this story has been a materialization of the lesson I'm currently learning. You can't change someone else. You can't transform how they see things or how they react. The only thing you can change is yourself. To do that, you must dig to find the root of your upset, the thorn that's pricking you, and find the strength to pull it out.
Influenced by the book Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Ph.D., Desert Prayer was inspirited by the tale of La Loba, The Bone Woman. Hers is a story of transformation, of searching for spiritual truth in the metaphorical desert, and arriving into a new landscape, free from mental bondage. The Wild Woman archetype of La Loba represents the instinctual nature in a woman that feeds her creativity and her soul.
At present, Desert Prayer has reached 81% of their goal of $15,000, with twelve days still left. Backer perks include a wide selection of items from signed merchandise to acting and yoga lessons. For more information, check out the film's IndieGoGo page, HERE.
