Over the past few days, the Internet has been filled with videos and news articles about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Today, Sam Lake (Creative Director) completed his task... with some help from his caring co-workers.
The focus of the challenge is to spread awareness and raise funds for ALS. People accept the dare by donating towards The ALS Association. Once donated, they have approximately 24 hours to create and post online a video of themselves pouring a bucket of ice cold water over their head. They then nominate three friends to do the same.
Moments before completing the challenge, Sam nominated Ilkka Villi (the actor who portrayed Alan Wake and Mr Scratch), Marko Saaresto (lead singer of Poets of the Fall) and Phil Spencer (Head of XBOX).
ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a neurodegenerative disease which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It a disease that can affect muscle strength, swallowing, speaking and breathing. The ALS Association uses donations to help research the disease, as well as provide public education and continually upgrade their care services.
