The Mirror Peak sign can be found on the trail leading from the car park to the Cauldron Lake General Store.
Text: “The mighty mountain in the distance is no other than Mirror Peak, the iconic landmark overlooking Cauldron Lake. From the right angle, its beauty will be reflected on the calm surface of the lake - mirrored in all its inverted glory.”
Reversed imagery plays a huge part in the game, from camera angles (as seen at the start with the deer head partially submerged in the waves) to the Cult of the Tree/Cult of the Word symbols.
Another constant theme is duality; two heroes, two stories, and two realities, Mirror Peak reflects that continuing thread.
Although the location and its name take on new meanings in the sequel, in the original, the game was likely influenced by Twin Peaks, a TV series by David Lynch that heavily influenced the first game.
