Our Breakdown: Control is described to have a distinct art direction", with the Brutalist FBC building representing normalcy and a ground to the real world, and The Hiss as a supernatural being portrayed as a virus-like entity creeping into the FBC. The enemy is "unpredictable and aggressive", but moves more like a fluid, while acting like a sentient disease which craves power. Their corruption is represented with an intense red glow.
The concept artwork also reveals the "mould threshold", an area covered in spores and infectious mold. As well as the Mailroom featuring old-school postal tubes, with the site mirroring what Elise describes as "natural flora".
