Remedy released a packed press release today!
To start off the developers announced some financial results regarding the latest fiscal year (2016). Stating in a press release, the company ended the year with a "revenue of €16.4 million, a year-on-year revenue growth of 19.4% and an operating profit of €3.9 million." Remedy cites the launch of Quantum Break (released in April for XBOX One & Windows 10 and September for Steam) as the fuel behind the success.
Last Tuesday (4th April), Remedy appointed two new board members; Henri Österlund (founder of Accendo Capital) and Jussi Laakkonen (CEO of Unity Technologies Finland). Both members join Christian Fredrikson, Ossi Pohjola, and Markus Mäki. The board had quite a shakeup since the last announcement back in September 2013 which saw Mike Capps and Christian Fredrikson join Matias Myllyrinne, Olli Tervo, Markus Mäki and Petri Järvilehto.
Perhaps the biggest news for gamers from the press release was the announcement that Remedy's engine, Northlight, is now being developed also for Playstation 4! The press release reports the "the company’s strategy is to release the game on a wider range of platforms", the aforementioned game is the teased P7 ("Project 7"). The last Remedy project on the Playstation was Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne back in 2003. P7's full list of platform/s are still to be confirmed.
